How can I form a new group, join or leave a group?

Quick answer:



Forming a new group:

- Open the app and tap the button in the lower right corner of the map view, or swipe from the right edge of the screen to the center of the map
- Tap "All targets" at the bottom of the side menu that opens
- Select "My markers" at the top of the menu view that opens
- Then tap the plus-sign at the bottom
- Select "Form a new group"
- Fill in the required information (share name, password, group name and description)
- Also choose whether to make the group public or private (see "More information")



Joining a group set up by someone else:

1.
- You can also simply follow the targets in the group without joining the group, if the group is public, by asking the group administrator to send you a link to the group (see "More information")

2.
- To join a group, you need the group's share name and password from the group's administrator (see "More information")
- Then open the "Targets" list -> tap the plus-sign -> tap "Join the group" -> use the share name and password you received from group's administrator

3.
- If your share name is already found in the group's administrator's own Tracker destination list (added as "Friend"), the group's administrator can tap the cogwheel icon in the top right corner of the group's own tab and select "Add friends" and add your share name directly by selecting it from admin's own "Targets" -menu list of targets to track



Leaving the group:

- Open the "Targets" -list -> Tap: "All targets"
- Tap the group's name -> the group's own tab opens
- Tap the cogwheel icon in the upper right corner of the group's own tab
- In the drop-down menu that opens, tap: "Leave group"
- The group administrator can also remove users or other targets from the group (see "More information")



More information: 



Public group

- You can share the group's link with others, e.g. in connection with an event
- Those who joins the group via a link do not have to be a member of the group beforehand
- Note !! The link works with the web browser of the mobile device, i.e. when opening the web browser of the PC will give an error message
- You can join a group via the link without knowing the group's share name and password
- Those who have joined the group via the link will not be visible as a member of the group or to other members who have joined the group with a share name and password
- You can change this setting later once the group is formed by opening the group's own tab in the "Targets"-list -> tap the cogwheel icon in the upper right corner -> tap the slider to from: "Free invitation" (Spectators allowed via link) to grey (private) or green (public)
- From the same drop-down menu that opens through the cogwheel icon in upper right corner, you can tap: "Invite friends" and then select: "Share link" (to send an invitation link)



Private group


- You can only join the group with either the group's share name and password, or if your share name is already on the group administrator's own "Targets"-list, then your sharename can be selected directly from that list by the group's admin and added to the group
- The group cannot be shared by a link for others to follow
- Only group members can see and be able to track the other targets in the group



The group administrator can add and remove users or other items/devices from the group

- A group always has one or more administrators whose account has the right to manage the group and its items, targets, devices and users
- Administrator can open "Targets"-list and Tap: "All targets"
- Tap the group name -> the group's own tab opens
- Tap the cogwheel icon in the upper right corner of the group's own tab
- The group share name and password can be found in the same drop-down menu, in case someone would like to join the group and asks its share name / password
- Other admin functions can also be found in the same drop-down menu (invite friends, add GPS devices, remove members or GPS devices, remove markers, add markers, add admin, remove admin)
- Once admin has selected the category, it opens a list where admin can e.g. remove just one or more items at a time
