Tracker Artemis 4G IoT antenna and radio access technology

In addition to the GSM technology, Tracker Artemis uses new 4G IoT technologies: LTE-CAT M1 and Nb-IoT as backup.

By default, Artemis comes with an external antenna optimized for GSM frequencies (900 MHz), but it also works on 4G IoT frequencies. The 4G IoT antenna obtained as an accessory is optimized for LTE frequencies (850 MHz). - buy a 4G IoT antenna here -


Antenna selections can be found in Tracker program in the menu: Settings > External antenna attached to device

  • No
    The device uses only an internal antenna and all radio access technology types (GSM, LTE CAT M1, Nb-IoT). Use this option if there is no external antenna installed on the device.

  • Yes - GSM antenna (default)
    This option default when you start using the device. In this mode, the device primarily aims to use the GSM technology and if the connection is lost for a longer period of time, the device will test whether the 4G LTE CAT M1 network is available and, if so, switch to use it. There is also an Nb-IoT network usage available as backup. If the external antenna does not work, the device switches to an internal antenna.

  • Yes - 4G IoT antenna
    The device primarily aims to use the 4G technology LTE CAT M1 network and if the connection is lost for a longer period of time, the device will test whether the GSM network is available and, if so, switch to use it. There is also an Nb-IoT network usage available as backup. If the external antenna does not work, the device switches to an internal antenna. Use this option with the 4G IoT (LTE) antenna available as an accessory. If you want to see if 4G IoT networks work in your area, you can also try this option with the GSM antenna. However, the coverage is lower than that of the 4G IoT (LTE) antenna.
