Your Tracker Hunter 6 or b-Bark 6 app has been or will be soon updated to the new Tracker App.
The biggest changes you face are:
- The application's launcher icon changes to match the new Tracker brand.
- The Map markers - menu which stores the markings you have done goes to the Maps - menu.
- The way tracking devices and groups are shared is changing. The share names and passwords are removed and replaced by sharing links and codes.
- The tracking devices you own will automatically switch to the new application. Other tracking devices you only view disappear, and their owner can share them with you again in different ways.
- The old groups will be deleted, but the administrator of the new group can invite you to the group that they have recreated.
- If you use multiple mobile devices at the same time, each must have its own phone number and a Google/Apple account.
- License prices and sales packages change, the crosslocation license is no longer required. Tracker allows you to control and track Tracker, Pointer, Ultracom and B-Bark tracking devices.
- Dogs and other animals will have a profile behind which their positioning data will be stored
- Tracker G400, G400i and G500-based tracking devices are no longer supported in the application and do not appear in it.

CHANGES IN MORE DETAIL
The application's launcher icon changes to match the new Tracker brand. We've redesigned Tracker's brand. With it, the launcher icon of the application will look like this:
THE MAP MARKERS MENU MOVES TO THE "MAPS" MENU
We have grouped map-related issues under the Maps menu. The map markings you saved have also moved there.
THE WAY TRACKING DEVICES AND GROUPS ARE SHARED IS CHANGING
Now, no more share names or passwords will be used. Devices have owner, administrator, and viewing level permissions, for which you can create a code for sharing or share it directly from the application by using a hyperlink, e.g. WhatsApp, sms or email.
Groups also don't have share names and passwords, but also have administrator, member, and spectator join codes that you can share with hyperlinks.
THE TRACKING DEVICES YOU OWN WILL AUTOMATICALLY SWITCH TO THE NEW APPLICATION. OTHER TRACKING DEVICES YOU ONLY VIEW DISAPPEAR AND THEIR OWNER CAN SHARE THEM WITH YOU AGAIN IN DIFFERENT WAYS
Due to a change in the way tracking devices and groups are shared, tracking devices other than those you own will be removed from your application. When the application starts for the first time, you will be asked about all the tracking devices for which you have the owner's password, whether you actually own that device. This is because the device can have only one user who has owner's rights. The owner can give the administrator's rights all those who need to control the tracking device or change its settings.
When you're the owner of a device, remember that if you want others to be able to track your tracking device, you'll need to have add it in the groups you want, or share the administrator or viewing rights to the users you want.
If the owner of the device is, for example, a company or entity that does not have a license, it is necessary to agree which user uses the Owner's rights.
If you mistakenly during the application startup selected that you are not the owner for a tracking device and you should be the owner, you can restart the selection process with the function: Main menu > Account > Move Tracker devices again. (feature enabled starting from version 7.1.2)
If you accidentally took the owner's rights to a device that you shouldn't have taken them to, you can press the Trash at the top of the device Settings screen to free up ownership of the device or transfer ownership to one of the device administrators on the Settings - menu of the tracking device, which will make him or her the owner and you the administrator.
If someone else has taken over the rights of the owner of the tracking device you own, you can restore them by adding the device on the Devices using the + button at the bottom right of the menu and reading its QR code on the packaging of the device. In other cases, contact Tracker Support.
THE OLD GROUPS WILL BE DELETED, BUT THE ADMINISTRATOR OF THE NEW GROUP CAN INVITE YOU TO THE GROUP THAT THEY HAVE RE-CREATED
As a result of the change in the way the groups are shared, the old groups have been removed form new Tracker application. If you've only been a member of the groups, wait for the group administrator to invite you to the group with a link you'll receive, for example, via SMS, WhatsApp, or email or with the join code that you enter in the Groups - menu + and enter the code.
A new group is created by pressing the + button in the Groups - menu and clicking + and Create a new group. After you created the group, invite members to join it, and possibly other administrators. Ask group members who own tracking devices to add their own tracking devices to the group. A team member can add their tracking device in the group menu by selecting + and selecting my GPS devices.
You can also add map markings and areas to the group, from the + button at the bottom right of the Group screen.
Map entries can be imported from many different sources.
- If you have multiple leases, it is recommended that you manage them reviiri.org services from which you can import map areas.
- If you want to customize maps, hunting towers, etc., it is recommended to use planner.tracker.fi – service
- You can also add individual areas and map markers to a group.
If you want to add map markings from old groups in Tracker Hunter 6, you can do so from the Group > Map Markings > + > Import from old Tracker groups.
If you need to know who and what tracking devices were in the groups in your Tracker Hunter 6 application, you can view them at: https://share.tracker.fi . There you can also see the owners of the tracking devices that were in the old group, so you know who needs to be invited to the new group and who to ask to add the tracking devices into the group, if you want the same dogs in the new group as before.
IF YOU USE MULTIBLE MOBILE DEVICES AT THE SAME TIME, EACH MUST HAVE ITS OWN PHONE NUMBER AND GOOGLE/APPLE ACCOUNT
In the future, your license will be locked into a Google or Apple account. When installing the application, you will be asked for the phone number that was in the Tracker Hunter 6 application to retrieve information about the Tracker Hunter 6 license. If you have multiple devices where you want to use the application simultaneously with separate licenses, you must each use a unique Google/Apple account and a unique phone number.
If you install the application with the same account on two devices, you can use them alternately on devices, but not simultaneously. The functions are smoothly transferred between mobile devices.
If you’ve had one phone number and multiple licenses, on each device of your own and you want to continue this multi-license and concurrent device usage: get a new phone number for other devices, create your own Google/Apple account for each device. Open the Tracker app and start normally using the new phone number on the device. After that, you will be created with an "empty" account for each device. Then create a support request at support.tracker.fi on which ask to transfer your account that was previously used on your device under a new phone number and Google account. Please note that you will need provide the phone numbers and previously used license codes for all devices, and please tell us which license you want to on which phone number.
Note! Phone number is only needed during the installation phase, so if you wish, you can use a prepaid card and later use a card without a phone number for the actual data connection.
LICENSE PRICES AND SALES PACKAGE CHANGE, CROSSLOCATION LICENSE NO LONGER NEEDED
In the future, tracker can be used to track and control Tracker, Ultracom, Pointer and B-bark devices directly. This has, depending on country, effected also license pricing and license packages.
DOGS AND OTHER ANIMALS WILL HAVE A PROFILE WHERE THEIR OWN POSITION DATA WILL BE STORED
Into the Tracking device – menu, there has been added a "dog profile", or a "reindeer profile". The profile contains information about the animal specimen. The tracks and some settings are stored under the profile. If you change the tracking device on another animal, it is advisable to make its own profile for it. Thus, when watching a replay, you no longer need to convey which device recorded the animal's track, but you can easily see all the tracks that the animal has travelled.
If you buy a new tracking device for your animal, the track will still be saved for your animal and if you sell the former tracking device to someone else, the recorded tracks will not be transferred to the new owner because they are tied to the animal’s profile.
TRACKER DEVICES THAT ARE NO LONGER SUPPORTED IN THE APPLICATION AND DO NOT APPEAR IN IT
The new Tracker application does not support and does not display Tracker G400 v2.07, v2.08, v2.08i and Pointer Magnum v2.07 and v2.08 tracking devices, as announced in April 2021 and January 2022 both on our website and in email newsletters, in addition to several swap offers. The same applies to Tracker G500 v2.07 and Pointer Pro Magnum v2.07 series devices, as they do not work with the new Tracker application.
In addition to the SMS based functions blocked by Google and Apple that are essential for old collars, the new Tracker backend system requires tracking device features that are already not available in those tracking devices, which are more than 10 years old, do not have and cannot be remotely updated. Thanks to the new Tracker backend system, there is now compatibility for Tracker, Ultracom and WeHunt, as well as possibility to offer other new services.
