Based on the changed operating environment and the feedback we have received, we have decided to extend the b-bark devices and server's lifespan.
The original decision to shut down the b-bark server by 28.02.2025 was based on the assumption that the 2G network would be phased out by the end of 2025. Since then, the operators have updated the 2G network shutdown schedule. In addition, we have received a significant amount of customer feedback on this matter, which we always take seriously. For these reasons, the lifespan of the b-bark server will now be extended.
However, we also want to encourage transitioning to a device base that supports the 4G IoT network as soon as possible, as the coverage and functionality of the 2G network are likely to deteriorate during the transition period. By switching from your old 2G-based b-bark device to a Tracker device that supports the new technology, you can ensure the reliable operation of your device in the years to come.
As previously announced, we discontinued repair service and technical support for the b-bark GPS device on April 30th, 2023.
